What is CBD oil?

CBD oil is the new product that everyone is talking about. CBD stands for Cannabidiol, and is one of the main components of the hemp plant. It is part of a natural class of compounds known as cannabinoids, or more precisely phytocannabinoids. Hemp is a legal strain of cannabis that contains less than 0.2% of THC. A lot of hemp strains are legally grown all over the world and contain a high percentage of CBD. This is why most CBD products are made from industrial hemp. There are more than 100 different cannabinoids, but CBD is the main cannabinoid found in these hemp strains.

THC, as well as CBD, is a cannabinoid that is present in most cannabis strains, although the two differ greatly: THC is illegal in most of the world because of its psychotropic properties which create side effects (the “high” feeling). CBD is not psychotropic, meaning it will not get you high. More and more people are taking CBD oil for a wide range of applications, and it is becoming a key ingredient in many wellness products.

What is CBD oil used for?

People use CBD oil for a wide range of reasons. The natural ingredients used in our formulations may be able to boost your lifestyle and support wellness and balance. The benefits reported using CBD oils can vary from person to person. We remind you that CBD oils are not designed to be used as a medicine, as a cure or treatment for any disease. CBD should not be used by pregnant women and breastfeeding mothers.

How much CBD oil should I use?

The amount of CBD you should use really depends on you: why you’re using it, your weight, height, age and the strength of your CBD oil. First, look at the amount of CBD per serving. 1 serving = 1 dropper = 1ml. If you buy a 30 ml bottle of Harmony 1000mg CBD oil, you will get 33 mg per serving. We recommend starting with a low dosage, so 1 serving. If you find it isn’t having the desired effect, you can increase the number of servings or the strength of the CBD oil, but it is not recommended to exceed a total of 70 mg of CBD per day.

How long does CBD oil take to work?

Results are immediate for some people, but for some others, it might take three to six weeks to start noticing an effect. It depends on the usage, the dosage and the weight, height, and age of the user… when starting CBD oil, there’s one thing you need to have: patience.

CBD oils are very popular because a lot of users get real benefits from using them. But remember, they’re not magic. If you find that it isn’t working well, don’t give up right away. Try experimenting with different dosages to find what is most appropriate for you, and have realistic expectations.

Ingredients found in CBD oils

CBD oils are made with different types of carrier oils. A lot of brands use a single oil, like hemp seed oil, olive oil, or MCT coconut oil. At Harmony, we decided to use a perfectly balanced mix of the finest organic olive oil and MCT coconut oil. The combination of these two carrier oils optimizes the benefits of our CBD oil while keeping the longest shelf life. Be careful if you buy CBD oil that contains only hemp seed oil, as shelf-life might be very limited, meaning it might go rancid quickly. In addition to the carrier oils, Harmony CBD oils also contain other cannabinoids like CBG and terpenes.

The difference between CBD Isolate Oil, Broad Spectrum CBD Oil and Full Spectrum CBD oil

It is important to know that CBD oils can be made with three different specifications of CBD.

CBD Isolate Oils – made with pure CBD Isolate. They don’t contain any other cannabinoids than CBD, which does not support the so-called entourage effect. CBD Isolate is the safest choice for a CBD vaping product, but it’s not the best for CBD Oils.

CBD Full Spectrum Oils – contain CBD extract with many different compounds, mostly other cannabinoids and terpenes. But they also contain THC in small quantities (usually 0.05% to 0.2% THC). This level of THC is not legal in most parts of the world, and it could be detected by authorities if they chose to inspect it. It’s also important to note that with these levels, THC could be detected during a roadside drug test or at the airport.

CBD Broad Spectrum Oils – probably the best choice for most users of CBD oils. They contain CBD as well as other useful cannabinoids and terpenes, but in contrast to the full-spectrum oil, THC is not detected. Harmony has created a premium Broad Spectrum CBD Oil to ensure the presence of minor cannabinoids and terpenes in addition to CBD, with absolutely no detectable THC.

Storage of CBD oil

You can store your bottle of CBD oil in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat. Make sure that the cap is closed tightly after each use. You don’t need to refrigerate Harmony CBD oil, but it may help to prolong shelf life.
